The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting operations, manage financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires extensive experience in accounting practices, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead accounting teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in general ledger management, financial reporting, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Financial Record Management: Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions and timely journal entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Account Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare tax documentation, ensure timely tax filings, and maintain compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors, prepare supporting documentation, and facilitate smooth audit processes.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting procedures and professional development.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and implement internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
- Minimum 05 years of professional accounting experience with at least 02 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel with advanced data analysis capabilities.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is advantageous.
